PETER NAUGHTON

Peter graduated from University College Cork with an honours B.C.L. degree in 1997 and honours L.L.B. post-graduate degree in 1998. He went on to obtain a Diploma in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit International Business School at University College Dublin in 1999. He qualified as a solicitor in 2002. He is also a qualified tax consultant having been admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland (A.I.T.I.) in 2004.

Post-qualification as a solicitor in 2002, Peter worked as an associate solicitor for four years in one of Cork city’s leading law firms, Coakley Moloney. In 2006 he returned to his native Tralee, Co. Kerry to establish Naughton & McGrath Solicitors with Fionnuala McGrath.

Peter has extensive experience in all areas of the law. He practices now particularly in the areas of commercial and company law, residential and commercial property, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Peter also has an extensive personal injuries litigation practice and has represented clients at all levels of court. He also advises in relation to planning law, licensing law and taxation law matters.

Peter acts for many significant clients both private and commercial, on a national and international level. He acts for Shannon LNG Limited in relation to the proposed development of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal at Ballylongford, Co. Kerry. Peter was a member of the legal team at the oral planning hearings which resulted in grants of planning permission for the terminal and natural gas pipeline. He was also part of the negotiating team which achieved agreement with landowners on the pipeline route for the proposed construction of the gas pipeline from North Kerry to Foynes in Limerick. Peter also acts for McInerney Homes one of Ireland’s largest construction firms.

       
   

FIONNUALA MCGRATH

Fionnuala graduated from University College Cork with an honours B.C.L. degree in 1998. She qualified as a solicitor in 2002. She has continued her professional studies since qualification in 2002 and holds separate diplomas in Family Law and Civil Litigation from the Law Society of Ireland. She is also a qualified tax consultant having been admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland (A.I.T.I.) in 2004.

Fionnuala has experience in all areas of the law with particular expertise in family law. She holds a Law Society of Ireland Diploma in Family Law. Prior to establishing Naughton and McGrath Solicitors she worked for seven years in a leading and highly respected family law firm in Cork, Noonan Linehan Carroll Coffey. There Fionnuala advised on every aspect of family law and was involved in many high profile cases. Fionnuala’s experience ranges from advising on separation and divorce to the far-reaching legal, financial and taxation implications of marital breakdown to include dealing with businesses, partnerships, trusts and pensions. As an Associate Member of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland, she can offer particular and specialised tax advice relative to Family Law. In addition, she has extensive expertise in cases involving children, non-marital cases and pre-marriage advices including the negotiation of pre-nuptial agreements.

Fionnuala practices in all areas of litigation. She advises clients in a wide range of areas encompassing personal injuries and medical negligence litigation. She holds a Law Society of Ireland Diploma in Litigation. She has represented clients at all levels of court from District to Supreme Court. She has particular experience in dealing with medical negligence claims and has represented many clients at Inquest Hearings in the Coroners Court.
